In 2008, Centrex IT are heading up the development of the site to ensure its next inception is heralded as the most advanced, comprehensive and dynamic Ibiza lifestyle site on the market.

2007 saw them launch their very own Virtual Ibiza week, which included a host of events from yacht trips to private parties, sunset sessions held at Café Mambo – which had users from all over the world tuning in live to experience the breathtaking scenes. The UK’s Daily Star newspaper jumped on board in order to give away a ‘VIP trip to Ibiza’ in conjunction with concierge company Icon Ibiza, a coveted prize which included spending money, VIP access to the island’s premier parties, accommodation and VIP transport.

2008 sees Virtual Ibiza again hooking up with the Daily Star, adding another new element to our site, featuring their latest news and gossip and once again offering a fabulous competition. Other new sections on the site include: club guides (including smaller venues) and reviews, bar guides, DJ interviews and biographies, beach guides (including insider tips and tricks), restaurant reviews, shopping and trend tips, local and music news and of course, the opportunity to purchase club tickets online – essential for any Ibiza website!

Legendary Ibiza promoter and shareholder Charlie Chester, in charge of promotions and partnerships for the site says, ‘Over the last four years we have built the most amazing online community and developed a brilliant brand name with so much potential to expand. We have some fantastic partners on board, both on the island and worldwide. I believe the look and the feel of the new site will take it to the next level and that the new editorial content that will drive the relaunch.’

Heading up the editorial team is Kristie Rogers, a journalist based in Ibiza, who – having thrown her a glamorous job working on women’s fashion magazines a few years ago – has worked with many major promoters and clubs on the island and is committed to creating an online guide to Ibiza that leaves no stone unturned. ‘I really believe there is a gap in the market at the moment,’ she says, ‘Between websites offering basic information regarding accommodation and beaches and others limited towards certain clubs and styles of music. With, we have the opportunity to bridge this gap and provide a resource that will provide both our current online community along with anyone searching for information about Ibiza a vast content of information, creatively covering all bases on the island – from clubs and music through to food and yoga classes – objectively and thoroughly.’

Founder Jon Dixon says, ‘We had already taken Virtual Ibiza to a very high level – our technology is amazing and we have pioneered projects such as the live webcams from Cafe Mambo, however we lacked the cooler information – such as beach guides, gossip and where the hottest parties are – about the island that our users really wanted. With our all new content, we’ll be providing all that and more, delivering the total community experience for people who really love Ibiza.’
