Paul Oakenfold Podcast

This month Paul Oakenfold has released a new podcast. The podcast is called ‘Perfecto Podcast featuring Paul Oakenfold’ and is weekly podcast.

Paul Oakenfold had a perfecto night in Pacha a few years ago and generally plays around radio 1 weekend. Over the last few years he has not really blown many people away with his sets, however if you remember Paul Oakenfold from the end of the  90’s and up to 2001 then you will know he is more than capable of giving people the best night of their lifes.

Pacha

Retro @ Pacha 2009

Retro will be back in Ibiza for 2009 on Tuesdays @ Pacha. Retro is one of those nights that not many people actually talk about. It started off in Ibiza a long time ago and was very popular with the workers on the island. Since then it has moved away from San Antonio and now resides in Pacha.

If you are not to sure about Retro or don’t want to choose it as one of your nights out then i would highly recommend going to the Retro pre party, Paul Taylor is the Dj behind Retro and every time i have been; his pre parties have been amazing, He has a real enthusiasm for the music he is playing and it shows by his energy.

No lineups have been announced and neither have the opening and closing parties. With regards to the Lineup Paul Taylor will be there ever week, You can probably expect to have guests performing live as they do in the UK.

Amnesia

PVD Ibzia Dates 2009

Paul Van Dyk’s website has been updated to include the dates he will be playing for Cream in Ibiza for 2009. He will be playing 8 dates in 2009 between the 2nd July and the 24th September. The 24th of September matches the date on th Cream website given for the closing party, However the 2nd of July is listed on PVD’s gig calendar as the opening party for cream but on the cream website the opening party is listed as being on the 18th June which i hope it is!

Cream will be officially announcing the lineup in April. To read more about Cream in Ibiza check out my previous post Cream @ Amnesia 2009 which is the post that will be updated with the lineup once it is revealed.

Just though id let you know that i have done an interview on loveibiza.net. Myself and John at LoveIbiza.net have decided to share our knowledge. As a result i have been interviewed by John and he has published this on his own blog. You should go over and check it out. LoveIbiza.net has the same aims as my Ibiza Blog but as an added extra John is creating a community for people who love and visit Ibiza. Its a great place that you can go and meet similar people who love Ibiza, If you are planning on Working in Ibiza this year then this is even more reason to go and check it out. I dont have any information about people who want to go and work there but john has an excellent facility for people to try and find work.

Myself and John are going to start guest blogging on each others websites. Check back soon and you will be able to read an interview from John. We will also be guest blogging on each others websites which i hope will introduce a more varied prospective for anyone planning on visiting Ibiza for the first time or even hear the views of other people for those of you that have been before.

Radio 1 Weekend

Radio 1 weekend @ Sa Punta de Moli?

Following a comment on my Radio 1 weekend 2009 post it seems that the radio 1 weekend in 2009 could be held at
Sa Punta de Moli.

A comment from Mr Pink pointed out a Virgin website and the British Airways website which have got information about the radio 1 weekend, the only real information is the location but they both have what looks like the same press release. It seems legit and these companys have had some prior info cause they are massive companies.

It would keep with the trend of Radio 1 weekends of late keeping it fresh, They have in recent years gone from being at mambo and Bar M all the time which they used to host their parties at to hosting them at Punta Es Moli, Space and ‘Gala Nights’ which they advertised as the ‘Abandoned Zoo’ Last year they were at Ibiza Rocks on the opening year and it seems this year they have moved again.

Im not to sure if i have this wrong but im sure that Sa Punta des Molí which is listed on these websites is the same place Punta Es Moli which radio one had a party at before which is were the windmill is, im sure there will be people who can confirm this or correct me if i am wrong and please leave a comment to confirm or correct me.

Eden

Hed Kandi @ Eden 2009

Another big move for 2009 seems like it could be Hed Kandi moving to Eden for the 2009 season. Hed Kandi has had its home at El Divino in Ibiza town for as long as i can remember but after reading a blog post over at Solo Records it seems they are on the move, There is no solid confirmation of this that i can find but I’m sure Danny over at Solo records wouldn’t blog about it if he didn’t have it on good word.

Hed Kandi moving is not one of the nights that i would have predicted to be moving to Eden but we were all saying this last season with Pete Tong. It seems “The Tong Effect” has spread this season. Hed Kandi is always a popular night in the Uk and I’m sure moving to Eden is more to capitalise on the San An crowd as I’m sure it will be a rammed night.

Radio 1 Weekend

Radio 1 Date??

In an Email recieved by a forum member on the Ibiza Spotlight forum Judge Jules has confirmed that Radio 1 weekend will be held on the 1st and 2nd of August in 2009 which is the same weekend they did last year.

I have been and had a look on the Radio 1 website but they have not yet listed any dates for the Ibiza weekend. Although there is nothing down in black and white at the moment it is the closest we have got to finding out when the weekend is in 2009.
